MAGGIE MULLINS

Run Coach - BOSTON, MA

I am a full time physical therapist and certified functional strength coach at The Run Rx. I started running in highschool, went on to run on and captain the cross country and track and field teams at Boston College. Post collegiately, I transitioned to road racing (5k through marathon) as part of the Whirlaway Racing Team. My own experience with running injuries inspired me to pursue my doctorate in physical therapy at UMass Lowell in an effort to help other runners stay on the roads and train smart before injuries begin!  I get so much joy from helping my athletes reach their goals, and challenging the ceilings and limits we place on ourselves.

Coaching Philosophy

Longevity in the sport is a huge priority to me and influences all of my programming. I believe in having “flexible consistency” and finding routines that allow for both growth AND sustainability in the sport. As a coach and physical therapist, I understand deeply that every athlete is motivated in different ways, and has different needs and goals. My goal is to help you figure out how you are best motivated, what routines are going to work with your lifestyle, and figure out how we can keep running fun, and not a stressor in your life. Understanding the whole athlete is imperative in achieving running goals!

Why I Run

Running keeps me grounded in a way nothing else quite does. Running has brought me some of my greatest friendships. It has given me a sense of self confidence. It has taught me true persistence, dedication and commitment. I love running because no matter how tough things are in our lives (personally, or professionally) going out for a run, regardless of distance or speed, is a tangible accomplishment we can almost always rely on. No matter what else the day brings, if you went for a run, you’ve been productive!

Favorite Race

My favorite race is the Feaster Five in my hometown of Andover, MA. Is there anything better than crossing a finish line and getting a free pie?
